Family is everything

This little guy thought it was a great idea to play with a black snake a few days ago. 😔 Unfortunately for both of us, this resulted in an after-hours emergency trip to the Vet hospital with blood tests, an oxygen mask, an IV drip and an anti-venom shot.

It was a stressful and sudden experience especially when you consider your pet a part of your family, not only the nervous wait to see if he is going to make it, but the sudden cost that exceeded 5K just to give the little guy a fighting chance.

This cost was an inconvenience especially when times are tough, but it made me think how circumstances can suddenly change quickly, and what if it involved something with a much higher impact and cost? For example, your ability to work and provide financial security for your family (if any injury or illness were to occur).
